“That means we are going to have to encourage more persons with disabilities to work, more seniors to work, more aboriginal people to work, including young people. We need to get rid of disincentives in the employment insurance system to people joining the workforce.”

There are no bad jobs, Flaherty says - Canada - CBC News

“Getting rid of disincentives” has got to be one of the weirder double negatives to come out of this new Conservative ideology. They seriously think the best way to address labor shortages is by cutting services to seniors, native groups and the disabled? I don’t even pretend to understand anymore.

So basically, let the most vulnerable people straight up starve and they’ll do whatever it takes to survive, right? Coz any job is a good job when you will literally die without it.

Yes, this is the world I want to live in, a social-darwinist dream.

Amber and I were talking about this a couple days ago. Fuck work.

Jesse Lacey: Hey Guys! We're recording in April and making music that won't bum you out, and it should be out by the end of the year!
3 months later
Jesse Lacey: Yeah, we didn't really record anything Brand New related in our studio time. It's tough being in a band. I don't really like it. We might be ending soon. But we might record or something. I dunno.

Just throwing this out there for y’all

repository-of-lost-things:

whatwhiteswillneverknow:

If you have any issue with Black people or blackness. Blackness of any kind? You need to go.

I’m so sick of this thing. The Good Black/Bad Black dichotomy. The other thing I’m tired of? The Good Blackness/Bad Blackness.

And I’m sick of people trying to pit different aspects of Blackness against each other.

Yes, there are issues within the Black community. Yes, there are things that we need to work out. But if you ain’t Black, then those aren’t for you to pick apart. Focus on your own shit. Our issues are our issues, and how are you gonna sit there and think you can have an opinion on it, much less the whole fucking solution, when you don’t even know about us in the first place?

For everyone, Black folk included, I’m sicka the anti-Blackness.

When you’re sitting there thinking that dark skin is less attractive.

When you’re sitting there thinking that mama’s in the hood who walk around with scarves on their head and their nails done, working hard to raise their kid, are “ghetto” and less than.

When you’re sitting there thinking that just because a woman is Black and also happens to be loud, she’s not worthy of any respect.

When you’re sitting there actin like a Black woman who dyed her hair green or blue or purple or patterned, is somehow less than and inferior to a Black woman who dyed her hair brown or didn’t dye it at all.

When you’re sitting there acting like Black women who use AAVE and don’t know how to code switch, or can’t be assed to because they don’t have enough fucks to give about pleasing white folks and whiteness because they’re too busy worrying about them and they own… are somehow inferior.

When you’re sitting there labeling some women as ghetto, ratchet, and acting like these are labels of shame, and intentionally using them with the intent to mark their inferiority.

You are anti-black.

I don’t care if you think Black women are the most beautiful women on the earth.

I don’t care how much you love Black women.

If you’re Black, I don’t care how much you love your Black ass mama and pappy.

I don’t care how many Black friends you have.

I don’t care if you’re the downest nigga in the streets.

If you can sit there and have a problem with any form of Blackness because it’s not taking on the form that you find to be the most desirable—you are anti-Black.

There is no on-the-fence. There is no in between. You don’t get to pick what you want out of the pot and leave the rest. Every aspect of Blackness is Blackness, take it or leave it, and if you’re against any part of it, you’re anti-Black, and you need to fall off the planet.

If you think that some certain forms of Blackness are “too Black” then you are anti-Black.

I don’t give a fuck if you’re Black, non-Black POC, or white. If you try to take aspects of Blackness, and pit them against each other, deem certain aspects of it to be inferior, and set it up for mockery, you are anti-Black.

Period.

And fuck the ever loving fucking fuck out of your fucking anti-Black ass.

Bless this post.
